Rezult Group is proud to be exclusively searching for the Executive Director of the Alabama Kidney Foundation. We are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic, hard working, proven leader who has a background in nonprofit management, fundraising, & community relations. The primary duty of the Executive Director position is to serve as the representative to the public, private & governmental entities within the community. This position reports directly to the President of Board of Directors, & is required to reside in the state of Alabama.
 
Responsibilities are as follows:
  • Coordinates with Executive Committee in developing Board goals, development, implementations, & long-range planning
  • Plans, develops, monitors, & alters operational budget
  • Coordinates & grows fundraising in support of the Foundation’s operations, programs, events & initiatives.
  • Ensure strong fiduciary oversight & financial management of the organization’s financial statements
  • Represents Foundation in public forums & with other community-based organizations, including initiating inter-agency actions & cooperates with other community-based organizations
  • Maintains contact with local & state organizations as well as participating as needed concerning the interests of persons with kidney disease
  • Insures that organization programs are diversified & innovative & are developed with participation & involvement of those affected by kidney disease
  • Manages the office personnel in performance goals & daily tasks
  • Implements the human resource management functions of the organization (recruitment, hiring, training, discipline, & termination policies & procedures). 
  • Must be willing to travel as required to effectively manage a state-wide staff, & to build relationships with Board, community, Public Policy makers, & other constituents critical to the success of the organization.
    • Visit Regional Office (10 times a year for 2 days each)
 
Required Qualifications & Experience:
  • A minimum of a Bachelors Degree from a 4 year accredited institution; MBA preferred
  • At least 5 years of ED, non-profit or leadership experience
  • Experience & proven track record with fundraising (minimum of raising $250K++)
  • Experience managing & developing non-profit operating budgets of $500k+
  • Experience with full Microsoft Office Suite products, & accounting packages are preferred
  • Professional & exceptional communication skills (oral & written)
  • Strong attention to detail, highly organized
  • Vast knowledge of multiple social media platforms
  • Ability to learn quickly & adapt to new processes
  • Ability to relate to a diverse range of persons, across a wide range of ages & cultural backgrounds; maintain interaction & cooperation of staff; include patients, board members, volunteers, staff, general public, & public policy makers. 
  • Management skills necessary to coordinate statewide organization with a wide range of programs & activities.  
  • Ability to supervise staff, with appropriate skills in organizational management, including budgeting, human resources, & fiscal administration.
  • Comfort conducting meetings with 200 plus attending & speaking to large groups
  • Ability to articulate the mission & need of the organization
  • Ability to meet deadlines on a regular basis.
  • Valid driver’s license & good driving record
  • Must be an Alabama Resident
  • Must be willing to work Mon-Fri in the state office located in Birmingham metro area
