Job Description


Cofense is seeking an ambitious intern to explore the techniques, tactics, and procedures required for creating high-quality cyber threat intelligence.



Primary responsibilities:

  • Technical analysis and research on emerging phishing threats and malware.
  • Honing tradecraft and skills necessary for successful cyber threat intelligence analysis.
  • Refining reporting and briefing techniques related to online threats.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Familiarity with at least one scripting or software programming language.
  • Familiarity with email protocols, headers, and formats.
  • Understanding of malicious software and applications preferred.
  • Participation in tactical phishing intelligence reporting cadence.
  • Completion of a number of finished intelligence reports on current threat topics.



  • Enrolled in a Criminal Justice, Computer Forensics, Applied Computing, Business Intelligence, or Computer Science college program, preferred.

Position Highlights:

  • This is a paid internship: $15 per hour.
  • The internship runs from May 21st - August 3rd.
  • You will not be asked to work more than 29 hours per week.
  • We will have outside activities and fun events.
  • We provide free lunch for our Lunch n Learn sessions.
  • You will be assigned a dedicated mentor who will give you assignments to help you learn and grow your knowledge base.
  • We really like tacos. And Star Wars.
  • We can only consider those over 18 years of age and currently enrolled in a college/ university.
